Scholarship fund for young parents at Texas Woman's University:

    In 1991, on her return from spaceflight, Millie established a scholarship fund for young parents returning to school. The scholarship was endowed by Dr. Hughes-Fulford in memory of her father, Charlie Hughes. The fund has  grown over the years and now gives one scholarship per year to deserving  students. Recipients may use the award to help pay tuition, fees, or any other expenses.

    Students interested in making application for the scholarship must meet the following criteria:

•  Be enrolled as an undergraduate at TWU

•  Have achieved at least junior status

•  Have earned at least a "B" average

•  Be a parent as well as a student (regardless of gender or marital status)
